Check Contrast

Audits the text layers in your document, reports the contrast ratio for each and tells you which ones are hard to read.

Every text layer, measured against the WCAG rules, before anybody complains.

Readability is not a matter of taste. It is a ratio between the relative luminance of two colors, running from 1 to 21, and there are numbers you are supposed to clear: 4.5 to 1 for body text, 3 to 1 for large text and interface components.

Almost nobody checks, because checking means sampling two colors, opening a website, pasting them in, and repeating that for every piece of text in the design. So people rely on their eyes, in a dim room, on a good monitor, which is exactly the situation where a failing combination looks fine.

Check Contrast goes through the text layers in the open document in one pass and reports the ratio for each, with a clear pass or fail. Where something fails, you now know which layer and by how much, instead of a vague sense that the gray might be too light.

Two things surprise most people the first time. Yellow and orange are far brighter than they feel, so white text on them almost never passes. And a light gray that looks elegant on a desk monitor frequently fails outright on a phone in daylight.

Frequently asked questions

Sample the lightest pixel under the text, because that is where it fails first. Then add a gradient scrim underneath rather than changing the text color, which usually keeps the design intact.
It is the AA threshold for body text and the one most guidelines and procurement rules reference. Large text can go to 3 to 1. If you want to be comfortable rather than compliant, aim higher.
No, it means the contrast is. Accessibility also covers alt text, focus order, motion and a lot more. Contrast is simply the part that is easy to measure and easy to get wrong.

Features

Every text layer at once

One pass over the document rather than one color pair at a time.

Features

The actual ratio

Not a traffic light. The measured number, so you can see whether you missed by a hair or by a mile.

Features

Measured against the real rules

The WCAG thresholds, which are what accessibility audits and an increasing number of legal requirements use.

Features

Where the failure is

Named per layer, so fixing it is a targeted change rather than a hunt.

Brush & Paint Styles

Paint with six styles that mix pigment instead of blending it, pick from thirty-seven tips shown as real strokes, draw a tip of your own out of shapes, and let the color travel along the stroke.

Collage & Photo Grid

Arrange media library photos as a grid, mosaic, polaroid, filmstrip or contact sheet, tune gaps, corners and frames on a live preview, and insert it all as an editable layer group.

360° Panorama

Describe a place and the tool builds the full sphere around you, or let it rebuild a photo you already have as the whole scene around the camera. What comes out is somewhere visitors can look around, hotspots and all, in an embed that carries its own viewer.

AI Studio

Generate, edit, retouch and clean up images from a prompt or a single click, all in one panel. Many tools run locally with no key; prompt generation uses your own Gemini or OpenAI.

Asset Generator

Gradients, text treatments, shapes and illustrations generated from a prompt, in your brand colors, arriving as editable layers.
