City Diorama takes a place on the map and builds it: the real streets, canals, parks and building footprints of anywhere in the world, raised into a chunk of city you could pick up. Search a street and a town, drag the circle on the overview map until your own corner sits in the middle, and choose how much ground the piece takes.
The shape of the piece is yours – a circle, a hexagon, a heart, or a chunk torn out of the ground, standing on a clean slab, a rocky base or floating like an island. Or wrap the whole area around a sphere and the neighbourhood becomes a small planet, streets running over the horizon and back to where you started.
Fourteen looks change the whole world at once: a clay model, a cartoon town with inked edges, faceted low poly, glazed porcelain, brass on slate, a paper city, a blueprint, neon, timber, first snow, watercolour, noir, candy, or the city after dark with lit windows and street lamps.
Building heights come from OpenStreetMap where somebody measured them, and from a model that learns the local building culture where nobody did – so a village stays a village and Midtown keeps its skyline. Mark the spots that matter, your house, your venue, the church you were married in, and join them with a route. Everything arrives as one group: the picture as a re-editable layer, the title and the coordinates as text you can restyle.
